Trim Castle

Trim Castle in County Meath is located on the Boyne River and not too far from the Boyne Battle site where William of Orange defeated James the II and one of the biggest reasons people can't get along in Northern Ireland. Anyways, Trim castle is by far the best preserved castle that we saw on the trip. It was last used in the 16th century and that is how it is presented. I like how the archivists opted not to rebuild the floors but instead used gangways to give the visitor the true sense of proportion of this castle. Mel Gibson used this castle in the film Braveheart by the way.
