Road to Kilkenny
With a good night's sleep and a "full Irish" in our bellies we headed
west over the Wicklow Mountains on the way to Kilkenny. We found out the night
before that Glendalough was closed due to the foot and mouth crisis so we
decided to come back this way at the end of our trip when the park would be
open.
Our first day without being hopelessly lost or hitting anything was quite nice.
We saw a dolmen, ancient pagan portal tomb, and some local livestock. Due to FDM this
was the closest we every got to a cow. As well we went near the Cullen ancestral home that is
now flooded to make a huge resevoir for Dublin.
